Here is a cool trick to practice breaking throws using the transparent pause menu in Tekken 8 practice mode. This will help you ease into breaking throws at a slower pace than what the game normally has.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Step 1 - go into practice mode and pick Jin as your opponent

Step 2 - in the practice pause menu under Display Settings, hide everything except HUD (this is to take away any distractions)

Step 3 - in the practice pause menu under Practice Settings, choose the following:
- Training Mode = Defense Training
- CPU Opponent Action 1, Select from Move List = Jin's command 1 break throw (move 106 at the time of this recording)
- CPU Opponent Action 2, Select from Move List = Jin's command 2 break throw (move 104 at the time of this recording)
- CPU Opponent Action 3, Select from Move List = Jin's command 1+2 break throw (move 105 at the time of this recording)
- make sure all of the Action Frequency values on all three of the CPU Opponent Actions are set to 1

Step 4 - move the cursor/selector in the practice pause menu to a selection that does not cover the rest of the screen, such as Punishment Training, Combo Challenges, Move List, or Sample Combos

Step 5 - unpause the game, then initiate the Play command (PS button + O for Playstation controllers) and immediately pause the game right when Jin goes to grab you

Step 6 - observe which hand is reaching out to grab you
- if Jin's left hand is reaching out to grab you, then you need to break the throw by pressing 1 (left punch)
- if Jin's right hand is reaching out to grab you, then you need to break the throw by pressing 2 (right punch)
- if both of Jin's hands are reaching out to grab you, then you need to break the throw by pressing 1+2 (both punch buttons at the same time)

Step 7 - unpause the game once you have observed long enough and know which hand is reaching out to you, and press the correct button to break the throw (make sure the game is fully unpaused before you press the throw break input)

Repeat!

You will notice that as you do this more and more, your pauses will get shorter and shorter. Eventually, you won't need the game to be paused anymore and can practice breaking throws without pausing the game.

Don't forget to practice on the P2 side.

Once you can break multiple throws in a row on both sides, use the rest of the CPU Opponent Action slots to record moves and practice breaking throws along with blocking attacks.
