Tempest 2000 is an update to the original Tempest arcade game from 1981 by Atari. The update was developed by Jeff Minter at Llamasoft, also for Atari. It was originally created and released in 1994 for the Atari Jaguar, and is considered one of the best games on that platform. In 1996 it was ported to DOS. It features updated graphics based on the original vector style, and a rocking CD audio soundtrack.
