The Army Boxing Championships semi-final has taken place in Bielefield. It was a tense night for Germany's 7 Regt RLC and their opponents, UK-based 22 Engineer Regiment. The home-side may have been considered the underdogs against the current Army boxing champions, but at the interval they were leading 3-1. In the second half, 22 Engineer Regiment started to rack up more win, including Sapper Bobby McCall's victory against Corporal Jim Mar. As the contest entered its final bout the Regiments were tied at 4-4. In the end, Corporal Tom Main won the heavy weight bout sending 22 Engineer Regiment to the finals in the UK later next month.
