An inquest jury has returned an accidental death verdict, after a teenage air cadet and an RAF reservist were killed in a mid-air crash. Fifteen-year-old Nicholas Rice died alongside Flight Lieutenant Mike Blee when their training plane collided with a glider over Abingdon in Oxfordshire in 2009. The inquest was told Flight Lieutenant Blee, an experienced pilot, had been suffering from a spinal disorder, which may have made it harder for him to look around while flying. A jury at Oxford Coroner's Court heard that the two-seater Tutor plane nosedived after the crash at 4,150ft on 14th June. Nicholas Rice was on his second air experience flight.
