287This admittedly took longer than I thought it would, but I’ve spent the past 3 weeks coding Terraria to run within a console window! Although it’s obviously lacking in most features from the original game, it still has terraforming, an inventory, crafting, chests, tools, weapons, armor, turn-based combat, worldgen with caves and structures, and a final boss. I made the project in Python, and it’s open source, so feel free to visit the GitHub repo below.

* In the video I said this was an EXE, but it’s actually a ZIP with an EXE inside of it. You'll simply need to extract it into a folder, and then tell Windows Defender to take a chill pill.
