Test Upload - 3D Printed Camera Mount 2/2
Testing my newly printed camera mount I mocked up in Fusion 360.
Inspired by The Active Region, I wanted to add a camera to my Prusa i3 MK3S that makes use of the unused M3 thread on the stepper motor that drives the Z-Axis up and down. Instead of printing his design which was a single fixed component I wanted to instead try for an adjustable system using a printed arm connecting a bracket on the stepper motor and a block I can fit the camera to.
Spoiler alert: it's garbage. Not only do I have inadequate lighting, but the focus is way off and there is far too much vibration anytime there's movement in the Z-Axis of the printer.
Currently printing the next revision, which uses less pieces and shouldn't wobble around anywhere near as much.
Equipment:
Camera: Microsoft LifeCam Studio (because it was cheap)
3D Printer: Prusa i3 MK3S printing with Prusa Orange PETG
OBS Studio
