Testing Edifier XM2 (2.1 speaker) with Dolby PCEE HT driver !
4Edifier has been in to quality audio product for multimedia and personal desktop computer for many years,
Today we testing a basic desktop speaker model XM2 , Actually compare to the performance Just 21Watt RMS total
which able to respond on fequency under 20khz to 80hz. which you rarely find on such a specification at this price point
to prove what i mean , please allow me to introduce Dolby Home Theater v4 PCEE audio
driver. (now the audio totally control by application)
which turn the 2.1 speaker in to an amazing dual channel surround sound system !!!

In this test setup... XM2 Volume level set to 60-70% (source 10-30%) , Sub-woofer place near the wall (better low frequency respond) and using "Windows Media player" as Music playback (All effect, EQ off) sound control by "Dolby® Advanced Audio v2/ Home Theater v4 Drivers" *including PC "Game mode, Music mode & Movie "
amazingly XM2 able to handle those settings without any problem. music with decent Mid-range, non "bright" high frequency which make the sounds balance for all type of music (included Pop, R&B, Hip hop, electric new wave) suggest comfortable volume “run-in" the speaker driver for a few moment to achieved smoother sounds....
Tested Gaming title: Resident Evil 5, resident evil revelations, Sonic & SEGA All-Stars Racing ,Crysis 3 etc.
Which capable of enhanced yours fps gaming experience which amazed me....like now you finally able to hear more details thats fast paste "reaction" environment in gameplay .

First of all the looks..Edifier did a great jobs, the active sub woofer "slick black color finish" given it a quality stylish feels.
Sounds quality actually not bad at all (best with "Dolby home theater" audio driver ) , compared to others same class type of desktop speaker system. Performance... meaning it's output power 21 watt (total) is a little disappointment. But overall quality makes the weak point "an easy" forgivable at this price point.
Suggestions: please feature "Bluetooth" audio(future model), And *clean Bass "Low pass" filtering could be improve. *Best if including "audio source selector"
