Here's something of a different type of game where the goal is to get the little man, the climber in Field Climber, to the top of the screen.

The first stage is just about getting to the top, but later stages introduce flags that you have to guide the climber to on his way up. Each one will give you a "wipe" powerup that will let you eliminate several rows of blocks at a time, in case you need to clear a path to free the trapped climber.

It is slightly awkward sometimes to figure out how the climber "thinks" when he sees the ghost of a piece you're about to drop...you may notice that he turns around at strange times. This gets even more interesting when he's walking where a piece has yet to lock into place.

I wanted to show the little guy actually getting crushed at least once, because it's harder than it sounds. A single block won't do it, you've got to leave him with no squares to escape to, so all of the surrounding spaces, even diagonally (at least I think) must be filled as well. If the tetrimino you're dropping on his head would clear lines and would thus leave him room to escape in the new position of the lines in the matrix, he will remain unharmed.
