Texas Snow Storm (NO) Power/Heat/Internet/Cell Service We survived
35Why Yes! You heard it right "SNOW" in Texas!!!
This storm took the whole state of Texas literally by "Storm" to be politically correct ha!
Unheard of temperatures reaching this far down south, for more than 5 consecutive days at that.
Texas power companies were not prepared for this, as you may have already heard on the news all this week.
We lost power Monday night at 2AM...They had what they call rolling power outages throughout San Antonio for 2-5 minutes on and then off for 1 to 2 hours.
10AM rolled around on Monday the 15th then completely no power since...the 2 - 5 minutes wasn't even enough to even get the furnace kicked on zoinkes! What were they thinking?
Our house temperatures reached a low of 30 degrees inside and stayed that way as temps never got above freezing till Wednesday midafternoon before another round of Artic Air came rolling in to seal the deal.
We managed to stay warm with tons of blankets...Finally late Wednesday shortly after 10 PM I heard the furnace kick on.
I so wanted to celebrate...but instead everyone was sleeping with 5 blankets on them to stay warm, so I snuck in the rooms removing the blankets slowly so they wouldn't overheat and wake up.
We all crashed ever night at 8 PM just to sleep this situation off.
It never felt so good to turn on a light switch as well...Lights & Heat Aww! (The small things)
Kids handle this situation like champs...No Cell service, No internet, No nothing but ourselves and our imagination to keep our minds off the situation!
Thursday I ventured off to our local HEB grocery store...I was able to get some foods not the world greatest selection but stuff to at least make a warm meal.
Friday today...finally a little peace of mind and some normalcy!
