That Time A Worm Became A Fish...
The critters that litter the Cambrian Explosion had been a major blank spot for over a half century. As time goes on, more and more of those groups of animals turn out to be early forms of already known groups with us today. That doesn’t make them any less weird, in fact it shows how weird and diverse animal groups used to be. The fossil deposits of the Burgess Shale and Sirius Passet continue to spill their secrets as erosion and discovery claim their wins and losses. A new discovery from the Sirius Passet has slipped out and some eggheads found it to be the nail in the coffin they needed to destroy an old idea – paving the way for a new one.
