20"I know I've only just barely scratched the surface of Face of Mankind, but as this series is a first impressions review, I can say that what little I've uncovered is utterly insufficient to hook me well enough to stick around long enough to discover whether there's any 'good stuff' to get to. Given the incredibly polarized user reviews that circle this game like vultures, I think it's sufficient to say that Face of Mankind may well appeal to a narrow band of gamers with the patience to invest hours upon hours into understanding and enjoying it, but I'm most certainly not among them, and I doubt many others will be either."

The 1st 15, our first impressions series, is quite simply the first fifteen minutes of my time with a game, for what that's worth; no more, no less. First impressions go a long way in setting the tone for how well a game is received by its audience, and even a good game can turn away potential fans if it can't hook them in its earliest moments. That said, this should not be treated as a comprehensive review; it represents my very first impressions of the game only; nothing more, nothing less.
