There’s two strategies:
1) have a unit faster than waginoa, such as Roxanne or hayate who can neutralize him before he freezes your units
Or 2) have a character with clock resist (a Chronomancer passive) to prevent being frozen. Elizabeth or Michael works great because they can then vaccine all the other frozen characters.

Afterwards, you want to use multihit classes like twinswordsman to break through the barriers the mages put up.
