Armagetron Advanced, a 3d game based off of the lightcycle scenes from the Disney movie "Tron". The basic goal of the game is to eliminate or "core dump" opponents by forcing their lightcycle to run into the walls that the lightcycles constantly lay down behind them. Sounds simple enough right? Well, there are many variations and gametypes, each unique.

The game type featured in the video is called Sumo for obvious reasons. You start off in a circular zone and try to either core dump or force your opponent's out of the zone. Naturally, players want to maximize the space they have in the zone while minimizing their opponents space. The center is also highly desired as the zone starts to shrink. Because the zone shrinks with time; it takes more and more skill to survive the longer the round goes on.

There are two ways to gain points in Sumo; the first being core dumping an opponent, and the second being "conquering" an opponents zone. A zone is considered conquered by the other players when the owner of the zone is either forced out for an extended period of time, or is core dumped. Conquered zones disappear, and anyone remaining side receives points for conquering the zone. So if player 1 dies, his zone will be conquered by the remaining players and they will get points. The match ends when a certain point limit is reached, or when a set amount of rounds elapses.

The "physics" in Sumo closely resemble the default settings seen in the movie; wide turns being made with a set amount of turns per second that can be done, and almost instant death when contacting a wall. Thus, play in sumo is mostly maneuvering for position and then striking a weak spot in front of an opponent to cut them off and prevent them from reacting in time, or simply confining them to a small area and waiting for them to inevitably hit a wall trying to get out.

Currently, sumo is one of the more popular types of online play, along with fortress.
