Who thought at release the Batman Arkham series would be one of the best of the last 15 years?

Since the series inception almost 15 years ago, The Batman Arkham series has since offered some of the best gaming experiences. Titles that would have noticeable influence on other titles from other studios. Yet, few could come close to what the series had to offer. Four games in total (Arkham Asylum, Arkham City, Arkham Origins & Arkham Knight), each have their strengths and weaknesses.

It's funny to look back at how a studio with one game under their belt at the time had the keys to the Batman franchise. Licensed games could be all over the place in quality. But to produce titles that were GOTY worthy, and some of the best games in the last 15 years? Talk about a welcome surprise.
