THE BEST DESSERT CAFE IN AUSTRALIA | SULBING CAFE
When you think of Korean desserts - you probably think of Sulbing Cafe.
If you're a sweet tooth - you can indulge in Sulbing's famed bingsu topped with decorative and delectable toppings or soul-warming drinks such as the hot double toffee-nut latte.
Their refreshing desserts are designed to be eaten on the run. (You MUST try the Premium Strawberry Sulbing - it's a flavour bomb!)
Find them next to Starbucks on Swanston Street.
Time Out says
Get your Korean dessert fix on the go and minus the queue with Sulbing's new takeaway spot
If you've ever spotted the line snaking down the block of Lonsdale and Russell Street and wondered what all the fuss was about, let us clue you in: it's punters eager to dive in on a bingsu, a Korean shaved ice dessert. They're delicious and refreshing, but if you're the type that refuses to queue for anything, you can now visit the café's new takeaway window in Melbourne Central instead.
Compared to its older sibling, which is dishing up enormous desserts that are best eaten sitting down, this tinier joint is slinging petite versions of the bestsellers that are designed to be eaten on the go. All the classic bingsu flavours – strawberry, chocolate brownie, mango cheese and injeolmi – are available in cups, and the display counter is filled with croque monsieurs, croissants, palmiers and raisin rolls. There are also a variety of drinks on offer, including calamansi iced tea, hibiscus-ade and yuzu smoothies.
Sulbing Korean dessert cafe's popularity has grown to the point that they're having to open up a new store in the heart of the city, at Melbourne Central, corner LaTrobe and Swanston Streets, Melbourne. This newest venue will open on 23 June 2022, and without doubt, its cult following will be forming mega queues as they do outside its Lonsdale street location.
However, the Melbourne Central Store is going to be a little different in that it's going to be takeaway focused. It's going to be for customers who want quick service. The busy commuters, travellers and students who are looking to indulge in seriously delicious desserts and drinks on the run.
Sulbing Is Opening A Takeaway Location At Melbourne Central So You Can Grab Bingsu On The Move
Whether it's a hot summer day or a cold winter night, it's always time for bingsu.
Sulbing Premium Café opened its first Melbourne store in 2019, and even now in the midst of winter, you’ll find lines out the door. Known for its tasty bingsu, a sweet Korean shaved ice dessert, this Korean café has a cult following of hungry sweet tooths. And now, Sulbing is opening a second store at Melbourne Central. Unlike its flagship on Lonsdale Street, this new store will have a focus on takeaway, catering to busy commuters, travellers and students who are looking for an indulgent treat.
Sulbing Premium Café
The new Sulbing store will feature plenty of items from the original Sulbing menu, as well as new flavours for you to try. The famous bingsu, which can easily serve two people at the flagship store, will come in petite sizes, so that it will be easier to transport.

Enjoy it with fruity toppings like strawberry or mango, or opt for something more decadent like chocolate brownies. Their signature injeolmi is delightfully nutty and earthy, and if you like matcha, you’ll want to try their green tea option.

Grab a takeaway drink to keep you warm, like a Hot Double Toffeenut Latte, which features a creamy, sticky and nutty mix of chewy toffee caramel and cram. Or, if you’d rather something refreshing, try an Iced Strawberry Flatccino, Iced Green Tea Latte, or a classic Korean ‘Ade’ drink, with new flavours like hibiscus, tarty White Grape, creamy coconut piña colada and zesty calamansi.

There’s also smoothies made from fresh fruit, with flavours like strawberry, mango and yuzu with milk and yoghurt.

Of course, if you don’t need to takeaway, and you’d rather sit down and enjoy your dessert, you can always pop into the original Sulbing store on 168 Lonsdale Street, which is just a short walk away. There, you’ll find bingsu, swiss rolls, shortcakes, macarons, honey butter bread and more.

Find the new Sulbing store next to Starbucks, at the former Seoul Station site.
