I've made some tinker tools to help us out, and we go get some slime boots and a slimesling. Afterwards, we track down the best food we can eat to get all the perks we can. Chicken curry seems to be able to give us nutrition in all the categories. So once we can automate crafting it, we can get so many bonus effects from eating so healthy.
