In July 2010, former Lance Bombardier Robert Long lost his sight following an explosion from an improvised explosive device (IED). In what he describes as "pitch black" darkness, Long found inspiration through a new form of combat. For overcoming the change in his life, the veteran has won the #Millies 2018 'Overcoming Adversity' award.
