In the world of "The Boondocks" comic strip, Michael Caesar stands out as a character whose presence is something I didn’t know I needed.

Michael Caesar is a preteen boy and co-protagonist of the comic strip, though he never appeared in the TV series. He is Huey Freeman's classmate and best friend during the strip's run, a new kid from Brooklyn who moved to Woodcrest, under circumstances similar to Huey's. Caesar and Huey agree on many social and political ideas, but they're quite different in many ways.

Show Summary - Cantankerous Robert "Granddad" Freeman is the legal guardian of his grandsons, 10-year-old revolutionary Huey and 8-year-old Riley, a product of contemporary rap culture. After moving the family from Chicago's South Side to the safety of suburban Woodcrest -- aka the boondocks -- Granddad hopes to ignore the grandkids and enjoy his golden years in peace. But the kids have different plans, torturing each other and provoking others in the neighborhood. No matter how wild they get, Huey and Riley are no match for the eccentric elderly man.
