Astria Ascending is a new indie JRPG involving some names from games like Final Fantasy, Bravely Default, and Nier Automata. It uses a pretty impressive array of classes, elements, and tactics to make its combat varied and satisfying. However, it has some serious difficulty spikes, and it needs more love in the QoL department. Things like more detailed quest text, a visible turn order, and a fitting room system are obvious by their absence. It's a good time, but the strange story pacing makes it hard to get invested.
