59Batman and Robin: The Chiller was a Premier Rides duel-tracked launched coaster that formerly operated at Six Flags Great Adventure. Built in 1997, this iconic coaster reached a max height of 200 feet and a top speed of 65 mph. While both layouts were very similar, there was a key difference between the two: the Batman track featured a 139 foot top hat inversion, and the Robin track featured a 105 foot cobra roll. I was fortunate enough to ride the Robin side before it was removed from the park, and it is still one of the most intense coasters I’ve ever experienced. The dynamic forces, disorienting inversions and deafening roar were truly unmatched, and it is extremely unfortunate that it was plagued with technical issues.
