The Commodore 64 Gets Graphics Upgrade
Modern day computer users are used to buying already built, complete computers. Upgrading components still happens, probably at a lower pace than it did in the 90s and early 2000’s though. In the early days of the computing boom, the 80’s, it was not all that common to see prebuilt “this is what you get” computers. Unless you were buying a Commodore 64 or 128. Internal upgrades for the Commodore line were almost impossible. Want a better picture quality? Buy a better monitor. Want better sound? Upgrade those dual tweeters you are using. The fundamental quality could only improve so much as the C64/128 were still limited by their hardware. Upgrades were handled through cable-based connections. Until now.
