Here in part 1, we cover the following:
BASE TECHNIQUES: 0:33
Why you need to be edge guarding - 0:37
A LOT of low level players in Tin and Bronze don't take the time to edge guard. In brawlhalla edgeguarding is SUPER important and is one of the main ways to kill. Simply ATTEMPTING to edgeguard can make a huge difference in your play, so try it out!
The ground pound - 1:22
This works on all weapons, simply use the heavy attack and hold down to perform the ground pound. Can be extremely helpful against opponents who like to sit on the face of the map. This can also go through all soft platforms be default.
Just get out there! - 1:44
New players are many times afraid of simply getting off the edge. Your two jumps, your dodge, and your recovery gives you lots of room to go out, make your attacks, and come back, without having to worry very much.
Gadget throwing - 2:17
See my video on gadgets here: https://youtu.be/ezpW7wesTNo
Keeping pressure - 2:56
Attack attack attack! The more afraid your opponent is, the better you can rush them down.
On the flipside - 3:22
While the video focuses a lot more on not allowing people to get back onto the stage, you can learn just as much about getting back on. Remember all of these techniques and learn which of them your opponent likes to use the most. With this information, you can read and predict how your opponent will react as they approach you and respond with the right moves to get past them, back to safety onto the map.

Using tech - 4:12

Unarmed Moveset - 5:22
Someone who can use their unarmed attacks well gives them a distinct advantage, since you can ALWAYS go into unarmed, without the need to wait for a
Air Dodge Baiting - 6:06
The dodge is, without a doubt, the most important move you have once you're off the edge. The 3 second cooldown makes it really valuable and you need to be careful when and where you use this. Because of all of this, forcing/pressuring your opponent to use theirs can give you a leg up when you're edgeguarding. Once this dodge is gone, get in there and attack, because they can get it back within 3 seconds if you're not aggressive enough!
Gimps - 6:51
Many times, using your dair is the easiest way to gimp a player, sometimes combined with your groundpound depending on the weapon you're using.
The Pushoff Column - 7:56
Coined by, uh...me, the term pushoff column refers to the zone right beside the wall of a stage. Many times your opponent will move or dodge into into this area as they expect a ground pound or dair or weapon throw at you. So attacking this area can be a great read and it carries the benefit of being a bit less punishable than a regular groundpound right by the wall.
Reverse Edgeguard - 8:54
Baiting an edgeguard is common in higher tier play. That being said, it doesnt really benefit you to sit on the wall for hours waiting for your opponent to approach. It's not only kinda annoying, it also allows your opponent to take their time to come up with a more sensible approach. Instead, bait out a dodge if you're expecting your opponent to come in, and especially if you've noticed your opponent using the exact same technique to edgeguard, and you've already planned out your counterattack.
