Back with some Killer7 on the Nintendo Gamecube for Spooktober! Last time on Suda51's cult classic, we played through the first half of the Sunset mission. We've learned that the other three great powers (America, ???, and ???) became tired of sharing equal power in "perpetual" "world peace" with Japan, and decided to stage a terrorist attack in the form of a missile launch on the island nation. To accomplish this goal, Harman Smith/Garcian Smith (the Killer7) was hired to take out their UN representative, as he had the power to prevent the attack by handing over a bargaining chip. It was also revealed that the Japan representative, Fukushima, had some mysterious, God-like document (perhaps given or inspired by Kun Lan, stirring shit up to end world peace?) called the Yakumo (Fukushima's bargaining chip that the US government wanted). The Yakumo seems to be some sort of king-maker, maybe a plan that leads one nation precedence over others.

All confusing and strange, I know. But, the US government isn't the only one who wants the Yakumo and is willing to kill millions for it, as the second party in Japan (the Liberal Party, with the UN Party being the first) hires their own assassin to kill Fukushima and retrieve the Yakumo. When the we finally met Fukushima, their assassin beats us to the punch in killing Fukushima, but we killed her as well and (assumingly) retrieved the Yakumo. Now for the second part of our mission, apparantly there was another spy on Fukushima's property (the unassuming fry cook), and we are given the mission to kill him as well (to tie off loose ends? Hopefully we find out why), and we are sent to the government building in DC where Fukushima was originally supposed to hand over the Yakumo.

A surprise is waiting for us though, as the remaining representatives of the Japanese Liberal party, after learning of their assassin's failure and realizing that they've been compromised along with their home nation's impending doom, were contacted by the God-like (or Satan-like) Kun Lan and given power and Heaven Smiles.

What is the Yakumo? Why is it so important? Why is it worth ending the fascist "World Peace" over? Who is our target, Jean Paul, and why are we hired to kill him? Who is hiring us to kill him? Who is Kun Lan, and why does he want to help end the "World Peace" so badly? Did he introduce the Yakumo? And were his Heaven Smiles given to the Japanese government officials from the outset? Does that mean the original attacks on the UN were orchestrated by Toru Fukushima? What was the Liberal Party of Japan's original goal? Just a coup of the UN Party out of envy of Fukushima's power? Or did they recognize Fukushima's actions would lead to Japan's destruction, with the Liberal Party having noble intentions? Who is the Killer7 for that matter? Where did we come from? Let's hope we can find answers to our many, MANY questions.
