You might think that if you buy a Mortal Kombat game in one country, it's the exact same game as everywhere else. And for the most part, you'd be right! But, there have been a couple of exclusive territorial releases. Even before Mortal Kombat 11 started doing exclusive "Kold War" Skarlet skin for Russia or "Cangaceiro'" Kano skin for Brazil, still like this was happening. For example:
• MKII on Sony Playstation (Japan only)
• MK3 on Sega Master System (Brazil only)

And on top of that, there have been instances where the game is released in multiple territories but with features that are exclusive. Here are some of these regional differences:
• Mortal Kombat II: Kyuukyoku Shinken on Super Famicom has green blood and black-and-white Fatalities
• Mortal Kombat 3 on Sony PlayStation has an interpreter read all the character bios and plot elements in Japanese
• Mortal Kombat: Deception was changed to Mortal Kombat: Mystification in France (since "Deception" is French for "Disappointment"
• Mortal Kombat: Shaolin Monks does not have Mortal Kombat II as a playable mini-game in PAL countries
• Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe has a censored version of the Joker's bang gun Fatality in the US in order to get the T rating (Thanks, ESRB)
