Transcribing a musical program from the July 1985 issue of Family Computing called The Curly Calypso. Then running it at the end!
The end result worked on the first try! But the music somehow sounded "off" to me. There's a bit of a static-like or crackling sound; it wasn't as smooth-sounding as I remember it. After recording this video, I launched another program - the classic game M.U.L.E - with the same emulator, and the music, that I know for sure should sound great, had a similar sound to it. So I suppose it's this specific emulator's problem. I tried tweaking sound configuration settings but no dice - and eventually I modified one setting that triggered a restart (without any warning), wiping out my program from memory before I could save it. :(
But, to me it's really cool that it worked anyway!
You may find some of the programming tedious, depending on what you're interested in. I did try to speak in almost a stream of consciousness manner to hopefully keep you entertained. But if you want to skip around, totally understandable. Here are a few time links to help you do just that:

Begin of the dreaded data part: 22:46
