The Deer God is a game about survival, reincarnation, and karma, all set in a breathtaking and unique 3D pixelized world. Feast your eyes on the beautiful lighting, day and night system, and mesmerizing water reflections.
After a hunting incident, a hunter has an unexpected experience.Now the hunter becomes the hunted, and the tables are turned!

The game is very much inspired by things that we loved growing up (not just video games). Being outside in the woods, building forts, seeing deer standing motionless in the forest and chasing after them. Building bows and arrows, pretending to hunt. We miss those days, but the feeling is here, inside of this game.

The Deer God is also dedicated to a small cardinal, whom I ran over recently. I feel bad about it - so I've decided to give him a second life within this game - see below...
Run, jump, dash, and use special powers attained through exploration in your adventure to fulfill your fate - do you want to ever be a human again? Solve environmental puzzles while using your intellect and powers that you have learned to delve deeper into the world's beautiful caverns.
Types of Deer
Fawn - This is how you start the game, as a baby deer. You will have limited running speed and jumping, until you gain experience and eat plenty of food.
Female - You will meet female deer in the game which will allow you to mate. Sometimes females will be protected by Stags, in which you will have to fight to win their hearts.
Stag - A male deer, who may or may not be your enemy.
Elk - Larger deer who are protective of their lands
Elder - A wise old deer with mythical powers. Seek out these characters to learn new powers.
Deer Statue - These statues possess the wisdom of the ancients. Seek them out in dark caverns.
Cardinals will be your guardians against other avian predators. If you find one, consider it good luck - and hope it sticks around for awhile.
Hunters - you used to be one, but now you are running away from them. Be wary of hunting cabins too - they can be a sign of more hunters to come.
Mate with female deer to create offspring - who are your reincarnate lives (checkpoints). They will follow you until they become disinterested.
Battle other deer to learn special skills and win the love of females. Find statues deep in dark caverns to unlock powers - all controlled by your level of karma.
Food Find food recover health and help you grow from a young fawn to a full fledged deer. Different types of foods will have different effects on you.
Multiplayer is planned for The Deer God. Go on an adventure with your friend in coop mode - see who can survive the longest!
Night and Day cycle. This is very important for the atmosphere of the game. Hear crickets at dark hours of twilight, birds chirping in the daytime sun.
Karma in the game is very important. How you behave will completely affect the type of animal you are. You might focus on getting dark karma skills - these are destructive powers that you can unleash on the world and its denizens. The Deer God doesn't approve with of this type of modus operandi, FYI. You might be reincarnated as a plant and eaten by a bunny in your next round!
Reincarnation is when you die - and usually when you die, you become a baby deer again. If you have been doing too many naughty things, there is a chance that you will be reincarnated as something random, and that something could be eaten by something else. After that, unfortunately, you might have to start over from the beginning!
Powers are given to you throughout the game. A few examples of these are:
Fire Shield: any enemy that comes near you will catch on fire.
Ice Bomb: This will create an area of effect ice blast that will freeze your enemies for a short time.
Razor Hoof: Allows you to jump upon enemies and destroy them, also allows you to break objects that are underneath you.
Piercing Antler: Allows you to break rocks and other objects.
Dash: What it sounds like, but dash also allows you to break things - in conjunction with other powers like Piercing Antler and Razor Hoof.
Divine Antler: Allows you to communicate with other deer, and they will aid you in times of need.
