THE DIVISION 2: NEXT-GEN VERSION UNLIKELY
7Ubisoft has confirmed that a next-gen version of Tom Clancy’s The Division 2 is unlikely, as taking full advantage of the new consoles would leave the old generations behind. The Division 2 Creative Director explained that they do not want to leave players on older generation consoles behind or make them upgrade their system, and their goal is to make sure new updates run smoothly on older platforms as well. Although next-gen console players may be disappointed, Ubisoft will continue to support the older consoles, and The Division 2 already supports 60 FPS and higher resolutions on the new consoles. Ubisoft is also working on a free-to-play spinoff game in the franchise, Division Heartland, but it is unclear if a mainline entry in the franchise is planned for the near future.
