I have put together 2 builds that work very well with the Backfire (timestamps below). This SMG is obtained at level 55 of the Season Pass (Season 3 TU11) and has incredible DPS potential when used correctly. I'm a big fan of the Backfire, it's very well balanced and performs amazingly well.
