8Resident Evil 3, a game with insurmountable potential with its updates in control, resolution, and overall presentation ends up falling short in the long run. With too many areas cut out from the original game to short lived environments that place no emphasis on backtracking removing the Metroid style inclusiveness that the earlier games in the series are known for, as well as weak boss encounters and the Nemesis creature actually being one of the weaker aspects of this game, Resident Evil 3 is ultimately a disappointing release from Capcom.
This is a game that was rushed to capitalize on the success of the Resident Evil 2 Remake but what was delivered simply lacks the content and replay value of its predecessor and the emphasis on action this time around also didn't do the game any favors.
