Okay, so what this videos shows is that when I swapped from my secondary weapon (bow) to my main weapon (staff), the bow was on the ground between my feet while the staff was invisible; you can see the hand placement is that of holding a staff. If I recall correctly, unequipping the staff and then re-equipping it fixed the bug (and I haven't had it happen again yet). No idea if it factored into the bug but the clothes and the staff that you can't see is an outfit while the bow was the actual equipped bow (I never changed the style of it).
