The Elusive Beast of Buchan: Scotland's Legendary Cryptid. #folklore #Buchan #Beast
The Beast of Buchan is an unidentified creature or cryptid that was reportedly sighted multiple times in the late 20th century in Aberdeenshire, Scotland.
The Beast was described as a massive, shaggy-haired quadruped, resembling a bear or wolf but much larger.
It was muscular, powerfully-built, covered in thick, dark fur, and had a large head, pointed snout, ears, glowing eyes, and heavy footfalls.
The first sightings emerged in the 1970s around the Buchan Ness peninsula and surrounding forests and farms.
Over the next few decades, dozens of people claimed to have encountered the lumbering Beast at night, with some reports of it trying to attack livestock.
However, no incidents of it harming humans were reported.
The Beast of Buchan ceased in the late 1990s, leaving the area with a long list of mysterious Scottish cryptid legends.
