The Empty Spaces - Critical Development #1
The Empty Spaces - Critical Development #1
Many people have asked BenderWaffles to critique their maps. Now, as part of the first episode of his newest series idea, CRITICAL DEVELOPMENT, BenderWaffles is taking a look at a selection of maps that were sent to him and giving constructive criticism and suggestions to help make them better! All of this, plus a speed development, in the pilot episode of CRITICAL DEVELOPMENT!
Map creation takes practice. It is an acquired skill that only comes with time. That being said, studying the work of others is a fun and fantastic way to learn how to do it yourself. Perhaps this will teach you some new techniques that you can apply to your own game development project, whether it is within RPG Maker, Unity, Game Maker, Clickteam Fusion or some other game engine.
Note that all of the comments made by BenderWaffles are his own opinion. You may disagree with what he has to say, and that is fine. He is merely expressing his opinions on the maps presented to him in an attempt to help people learn how to make better maps that feel more natural and realistic while also maintaining a certain level of visual interest and flavor.
