When I bought 'The End: Inari's Quest' for 28 pence in the Plug In Digital sale - I understood the criticisms going into the game, but it looked weird enough to draw me in to whatever the hell this game is.

The game is a single player adventure, where you play as a fox in a long overtaken, cyberpunk world. The graphics are nice for a game so cheap, and the environments include subways, tunnels, streets, apartments, corridors and ... squares?!

Anyway, poor advertising aside - the game doesn't get any better after looking at all the cool cyberpunk machinery that surrounds you. Controlling your character is incredibly jerky and watching it ruined the beautiful graphics that I earlier mentioned.

The main mechanic for this game is that you need to protect a fox cub while running through the subways, avoiding flying robots, rats, and cyborgs that kick you. The design for the fox cub is vile and so picking it up after smacking a robot was horrible to watch.

The gameplay as a whole is incredibly boring and feels pointless. There is no 'fun' aspect to this - its just a walking simulator with horrible controls.

The game is incredibly short and repetitive - and so I would rate it a 2/10.

I would not recommend it to anyone - no matter if you buy it for £2.89, or 28 pence on sale. There is definitely a reason it is so cheap....
