I've known this for over 10 years and yeah. get close enough to Lena that you can trigger the cutscene to escape the dungeon but hold up so that rhys gets "stuck" in the cell door as it opens, wait till you can move again, and use your escapipe. Voila! The king tells you that you fucked up but as long as you leave the dungeon (and castle) the same way the cutscene expects you, it won't break anything and you still get to plunder the dungeon's treasures and get yourself a starting boost in gold once you sell the trimate that's absolutely overkill and useless this early in the game.

Word of warning, you really gotta exit the way I'm showing. if you don't then the last bit of cutscene showing you leaving the store won't play out, then the scripts get broken and before you realize it you're stuck hours later because lena won't show up later where she's supposed to be and you can't progress without her.
