10Nintendo released the Wii in 2006. Since 2006, the Wii has sold over 100 million units. The Wii introduced home based motion controls that were responsive and relatively accurate. Nintendo then released the Wii U in 2012, it has only sold 13 million units.
Nintendo confused the market with this "add-on/accessory" that was in fact a whole new system - Wii U. The Wii U Gamepad was the ground work for the Nintendo Switch.
