The Story of the End - Revere was developed by Strashiner Studios, and the demo is available on Steam, itch.io and GameJolt. We'd also like to thank Karen from Mana Marketing for providing us with the exclusive demo of Story of the End - Revere!
The game consists of four protagonists but focuses primarily on Troy, who is plays the leading role in this game. Troy is a foot soldier from the Lumerian Empire, a ruthless empire known for spreading fear and destruction across the entire world and dominating all those who stand in their way. All foot soldiers are tasked to purge small settlements or villagers in the event they do not accept the Lumerian way of life or show signs of rebellion and hostility.
Eager to fulfill his duty as a proud Lumerian Troy realizes that his empire is one that insights terror into the hearts of innocents. After one purging duty gone bad Troy flees the scene barely alive. Saved by the locals from a nearby village, he made up his mind to fight for what he believes in and is now on a journey to end the terror and destruction from the very place he once called home.
*The current demo illustrates the main characters newly found powers. The celestial powers of breaking the games battle system and defying the laws of attacking at each turn.
Characters:
► Troy - Troy plays the traitor and a man seeking nothing else but redemption. After witnessing his dear friend murdered he was left for dead in the winter only to find himself back on track and more than determined to bring the empire down.
► Anthalia - Anthalia, or, "Lia" is a Lumerian soldier that is in the same predicament as Troy. Realizing that she has the opportunity to make the world a better place she wouldn't hesitate to do so even if it would cost her life.
► Roland - Roland is a village boy and extremely skilled with the bow. He knows the forests and lands very well and seeks justice for the family he has lost. Although a callous and seemingly cold person he cares deeply for his friends and would gladly help anyone in need.
► Cecil - Cecil was raised in the sandy deserts of Grun and realizes that the world is much more exciting than it seems. She explores the world seeking new thrills and discoveries. She is eager to solve problems and would never back down from any fight.
* The game also will launch a Kickstarter campaign this early January 2017. The full game should feature 15 hours of gameplay.
Features:
Hybrid Battle System: You can transition between regular turn based battle to real time battle. This feature is not only part of the battle system, however it is also a crucial part of the plot. You build up energy and crush your foes with your real time skills. One way to do this is to click on the enemy as fast as you possibly can.
Story Driven Quests: There are a myriad of quests in this game and most of them have individual stories of their own. The more you complete them the more you begin to understand the nature of this game. You find these quests on quest boards, which are located all around the game.
Adjusting Encounter Rates: You can choose to skip battles entirely, though it isn't recommended.
Upgrading Weapons: We've decided to include this feature to make defeating enemies a lot easier. Our upgrade system has no chance to fail but finding such materials to upgrade your weapon may be the toughest part. Use them wisely!
Crafting System: You can do some wacky stuff with this one. You can make potions that buff all your stats with some easy materials. You too can also modify already existing items. These items range from weapons, to a random pebble you'll find at some point.
Exploration: This game has over 300 levels you can explore. Be warned, one level may be bigger than the other. Some levels has its own little secrets and it is all up to you whether or not those secrets will be revealed!
