The Finals is a multiplayer FPS distributed in a free-to-play model with micropayments. The production was developed by the Embark Studios team - a Swedish development studio, founded by genre veterans who previously worked on the Battlefield series, among others.
Plot
The titular The Finals is the largest battle show in the world, whose participants fight in arenas inspired by real places. In order to gain the recognition of viewers, and thus - world fame - competitors must demonstrate imagination and creativity, using both weapons and the arenas themselves to defeat opponents.
Mechanics
In The Finals, we watch the action from a first-person perspective (FPP). The pillar of the game are multiplayer battles, during which we fight for victory in various arenas. How we eliminate opponents depends solely on us. Although there is nothing to stop you from focusing solely on shooting and using various gadgets or sneaking up on enemies and killing them silently with melee weapons, the production allows us to show much more creativity.
The arenas have been prepared in such a way that they can also be our weapons. Individual elements of the location are susceptible to destruction, which significantly increases the range of our possibilities. Since the spectacular collapse of an entire building on someone's head is met with much greater appreciation from the audience than the standard emptying of a magazine, the calculation is obvious.
