The Forest ist ein 2018 für Microsoft Windows und PlayStation 4 veröffentlichtes Survival-Horror-Spiel und der Debüttitel des kanadischen Entwicklers Endnight Games. Der Spieler schlüpft in die Rolle eines Flugzeugabsturz-Überlebenden auf einer abgelegenen Halbinsel. Hier muss er sich allein oder an der Seite von bis zu sieben Mitspielern gegen die Natur und mehrere Stämme mutierter Kannibalen behaupten, die die Insel bewohnen und seinen Sohn Timmy von der Absturzstelle entführten. Die Suche nach dessen Verbleib führt den Protagonisten durch weitläufige unterirdische Höhlen, die von Mutanten bevölkert sind. Dabei macht er Entdeckungen über außer Kontrolle geratene Experimente an Menschen. Der Titel verbindet Elemente des klassischen Survival-Horror-Genres mit denen eines Open-World-Survival-Spiels.
