The Friends of Ringo Ishikawa is a game that seems to be a mix of Persona (Time Management), Yakuza (Side Minigames/themes), and River City Ransom (Mechanics), set in the late 80's. It's somewhat minimalist, does little more than show you the controls before throwing you into the game, and the story just sort of happens around you as you play.

$14.99 on the Nintendo eShop and Steam; pretty good, if you ask me.
