The FUTURE of Metroid Dread randomizers: Door Lock randomizer
22In this video, we break down why the recently released Door Lock Randomizer is special for Metroid Dread, how to get around soft locks and how to setup Randovania for it!
Brief text guide for getting a dev build of Randovania:
1. You obviously need the game, Metroid Dread, and either a modded Switch or an emulator like Ryujinx. https://ryujinx.org/
1.1. Dump your own game (check tutorials for NXDumpTool or SX Dumper on YouTube) or do the thing we won’t talk about here. But please: Buy. The. Game: https://www.nintendo.com/store/products/metroid-dread-switch/
1.2. Extract the game to its romfs-folder. This can easily be done with Ryujinx.
2. Enter the Randovania discord: https://discord.gg/6MyVVHyYP3
2.1. Go to the “roles”-channel and react to the beta tester message to get the beta tester-role.
2.2. Download a dev build from the “dev-build”-channel.
2.3. Start Randovania and connect it with your discord account by following instructions.
3. Create a seed.
