The Game Awards 2021 Was A MASSIVE Misstep! | Let's Discuss!
13The Game Awards 2021 was great with reveals, but poor with its presentation format. From awkward pacing, to the actual AWARDS being rushed through in favor of increased amounts of advertisements and other commercials, it is seeming less like a celebration of games and more like a marketing event then ever before.
The actual reveals at the game awards this year were exciting, from Wonder Woman to A Plague Tale Requim, and so much more, it was very cool to see what was coming in the future for the gaming industry as we rush into what can be one of the best years of gaming in 2022, however these reveals were unfortunately marred by constant commercials, even for a trailer that has nothing to do with games! Also, did you know awards were given away at this show? Because you might have forgotten that while watching! Congratulations to all the winners of any awards that were won! None of my comments on the show are indicitive of my feelings to the studios that were shown in it or even those that played the advertisements! The opinions I express here are simply me hoping to see the game awards move in a positive direction for future shows. I love the game awards and what it is meant to stand for but not when it feels like a 4 hour commercial.
