The Game Deflators E126 | We Interview the Original Mortal Kombat Artist
This week on the Game Deflators podcast, the guys interview the original Mortal Kombat artist, Paul Niemeyer. John and Ryan dive in deep to discuss Paul's illustrious career, stories on his life as an artist, and his thoughts on the upcoming Mortal Kombat movie.
An artist of over 30 years, Paul began his career at Bally/Midway and created art for games like Tapper, PacMan Plus, Super PacMan, Professor PacMan, TRON, Satan's Hollow, Spy Hunter, WACKO, and an endless, anonymous list of prototype games. Paul has worked on a number of gaming projects over the years, but none have been more prestigious or well know than his work on Mortal Kombat. In 1992, Paul created the final illustrations of the Mortal Kombat logo and the artwork on the cabinet, control panels, and the header for one of the most well known games in video game history!
