The game that killed Jose Mourinho at Man Utd.
What if Manchester United won the 2018 FA Cup final? #facup #manchesterunited
Spring 2018 and we had the dulcet Portuguese tones still swimming through our ears whispering: “football ‘eritage”.
Manchester United had been in a five-year doldrums since the retirement of Sir Alex Ferguson but they had recruited a serial winner in Jose Mourinho to dredge them from their pitfalls.
The League Cup and Europa League had been won the prior year and a respectable 81 points and second place in the league followed suit in 2018.
Finally, was the turn of the FA Cup final against Chelsea, a team whose modern day ‘eritage was created by Mourinho.
In the end, a solitary Eden Hazard penalty won the game and Mourinho lost his job 6 months later. Today we ask: what if United won the cup?
