Due to the ongoing conflict and blockades in Gaza, the ability to acquire simple life saving medical tools (such as tourniquets) is nearly impossible. As a result, the people at Glia.org developed a tourniquet that could be manufactured via 3d printing and simple stitching so that it could be produced in low resource areas. Additionally, the tourniquet was designed to be functional for the broadest spectrum of patients possible, including children with smaller diameter limbs.

In this video we discuss the Gaza tourniquet and demonstrate how to properly apply a tourniquet.

We would like to thank the Front Range Community Medical Group, as they are the ones who helped facilitate this stage and learning exercise.

FRCMG is a Colorado based medical education group focused on improving first aid education and making medical knowledge more accessible for everyone.

The tourniquets used on this stage were fabricated by DMDM - Distributed Medical Device Manufacturing, a group who provides aid for communities in crisis in the spirit of mutual aid.
