♫THE GEARS GO AWRY (Castlevania: PoR) SNES Arrangement - NintendoComplete
This is my arrangement of the The Gears Go Awry from Konami's 2006 Nintendo DS game Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin. It was the BGM for "The Tower of Death." I have arranged it for native playback on SNES hardware, and the audio was recorded directly from a launch-model SNES deck.
The video clip was pulled from my playthrough of Super Castlevania IV. You can find that here if you're interested: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jd7P7niYimk
It's hard to go wrong with the music from any Castlevania game, let alone Castlevania music made by the legendary Yuzo Koshiro. It's a great track for sure, like the rest of the game's soundtrack, but really, when has a clock tower stage track ever disappointed?
Does the song remind anyone else of Bloody Tears from Castlevania II: Simon's Quest?
This was a fun one to put together. It was quite challenging thanks to the SPC700's limitations in both polyphony and in memory, so I had to "adjust" a number of facets of the original track to make this arrangement possible. Still, despite the DS's hardware being infinitely more capable than the Super NES's, I was pleased with how it came out. Hopefully you agree! And like always, any constructive feedback is completely welcome.
Thanks for watching!
