In this video:
Pan, the god of the wild, was famous for trying to “seduce” every woman who made the mistake of being anywhere near him. This also included various animals and goats.
One day, the gorgeous nymph Syrinx, known for her chastity, had the misfortune of catching Pan’s attention. She repeatedly rejected his advances and tried to get away from the horny half-goat half-man, but he kept on following and pestering her. Eventually, Syrinx had what she thought was a bright idea.
Pursued by the amorous god Pan, she ran to a river's edge and asked for assistance from the river nymphs. In answer, she was transformed into hollow water reeds that made a haunting sound when the god's frustrated breath blew across them.
Yet, in true stalker fashion, Pan proceeded to cut the reeds to fashion the first set of panpipes, which were thenceforth known as syrinx. That way he could always “kiss” her.
