This is the Part 2 of my The Goonies II (Explorer Edition). Titled "The Goonies II (Explorer Edition) Part 2: The Red Cavern, the Orange Caves, & the Freezers".

After we explored the house, we are warped into this huge back layer area called "The Red Cavern". Aside from the obvious red background theme. The door we got out is now steel instead of wood, and the ladders are replaced with vines. Crows are replace with bats that are at home in this dark place to annoy Mikey and so are large scorpions that take three hits to defeat. New obstacle in a form of waterfalls that will take half of a bar of health. The Indention gaps now are also wider.

Going upward on the first vine we see is a door. Going through it we are send to the front layer's "Orange Cave 1". On the far left door we get the 2nd magic locator device and the konamiman which heal us to perfect health (Warning: don't hit Konamiman, if you want him to heal you for the rest of the game).

Looking at the map we see the location of the 2nd goonie somewhere in the front layer, she's in the freezer B. To go there, return to the red cavern, by climbing down the vine, proceed right, to the rightmost door, enter, press right twice, then down is the freezer B.

The freezers are cold polar-like ice caves with slippery floors. Falling icicles are the obstacles in this areas. Enemies are Mad Eskimos, Walrus, penguins, and polar bears. Penguins behave like snakes. Walruses slides fast or slow when braking and take two hits to defeat. Polar Bears are fast moving always facing where Mikey is, and takes three hits. Eskimos are the menace of this place and are fiercely territorial. like the Polar bears they take three hits and behave like one, but they hurl axes.

To the leftmost door is the second goonie, rescue her to have four bars of health. After rescuing her, go out to the red cavern go to the leftmost door and enter. This is the freezer 2. This is the same as freezer 1 only with no moving platforms. Same enemies as freezer 1 but much more, watch out for falling icicles. On the lower floor on the rightmost corner is the other door, enter it. An empty room is right ahead of the dark one. Hit the back wall with a hammer, and a safe will be reveal, use a key and you found the GLASSES, the second essential item. To the right is a BOOMERANG in the ground, take it. Ahead is a harmless eskimo. To the left of the safe room, you'll find a waterhole, you'll need a diving suit to access that though.

Go back to the Red Cavern, take the next vine, then go left, and enter the leftmost door. The room is pitch-black light up the candle if you want, use your newly acquired glasses to reveal a hidden door, enter it. Inside is an old lady who will give you the HELMET, take it, now you're immune to falling icicles. Go back to the red cavern, travel to the rightmost part, enter the door. You are now in the orange cave 2. It is the same as orange cave 1, same with the enemies. The lower path to the right is a dead end, take the top and you'll find a vine to go up, climb it to take you to the Bridge.
