Strider 2 is the 1999 sequel to Capcom's original Strider game. This game originally occupied an arcade game format before it was ported for the playstation system in 2000 (and comically enough the "strider" and "strider 2" were labels were placed on the wrong disk, whoops!). Strider uses 3D landscapes and 2D characters as it follows the story of Hiryu, a strider agent in pursuit of the Grandmaster. Players can make use of several power-up items, some replenish or extend the health gauge, others extend the length of Hiryu's sword "Cipher," as well as a boost powerup that allows Cipher to discharge plasma waves that home in on enemies. This game features 5 stages, the cityscape of Hong Kong, a fortress in Germany, a experimental lab in the antarctic, as well as a couple of "off earth" stages. The enemies and boss characters range from experimental subjects set loose, to a giant mechanised orochi. And as in any arcade game, high score is important, so TJ you better GET DAT COW.
