I've now had this happen twice to me now. The pause menu shouldn't even be able to appear during that screen, and there's no way to escape it there. It's also worth noting that both the word pumpkin, and the A button symbol are glitchy as well.
I tried opening the disc cover, then closing it to see if anything would happen, but it didn't even display a disc cover message, or start spinning the disc upon closing it.
