In this tutorial video I discuss the hard realities of ad monetization in YouTube and why YouTube has to protect itself from Advertisers losing confidence in the platform, and to protect itself from Government Legislators coming in and forcing stricter content controls on the company.
To put it simply, if you are making content about games that should only be played by people who are aged 16, 18 and above - you are not making content for children, and you should tag your channel as such in your channel settings.
Have a good look at the YouTube guidelines above, and ask yourself, as a parent would you want YouTube showing your video to minors, and as an advertiser, would you want your product appearing in your videos?
